Scope of the Position    

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day to day functions of the Warehouse to ensure smooth operations of various processes that contribute to the overall success of our Wire and Cable department and Robertson Electric as a whole. These process include ensuring and improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. The Operations Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with various internal and external personnel, monitoring and supervising different operational areas in a consistent and timely manner, and supervising and managing staff to comply with Company policies, operating procedures and set Legislation mandates.

Major Responsibilities

• Oversee daily functions of Warehouse and Administrative staff.
• Manage Customer relationships by understanding expectations and working consistently to achieve them.
• Maintain facility, equipment and inventory in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure the efficiency and safe operation of all material handling equipment to ensure compliance with Federal & Provincial Legislation.
• Maintain stock levels and notifies the Purchasing Department of obsolete or slow moving stock for disposal.
• Oversee staff and ensure stock is rotate carefully and efficiently.
• Maintain a neat and efficient operation within the budgetary limits set by management, and promote a harmonious relationship between those employees supervised by the Warehouse Manager and others of the company.
• Conduct interview, ongoing performance evaluations and yearly reviews.
• Maintain confidentiality of company records.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience working in the electrical industry
• 3+ years’ experience managing wholesale distribution operations
• A high level of organization, motivation, self-management, and effective interpersonal skills
