Buyers Assistant

Scope of the Position
The Buyers Assistant is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with Vendors, Sales Reps, Shipping and Finance while coordinating purchase orders, pricing, and deadlines. They must be able to work independently and poses strong attention to detail and prioritizing skills.
Major Responsibilities
- Corresponding with Sales, Finance, Shipping and Vendors
- Place orders based on monthly, and quarterly needs
- Works with Vendors on RTA and place new rotations for PO
- Manage Vendor promotions and pricing
- Update active/inactive, clearance and non-stock skus based on velocity of sales
- Assisting with Inside Sales and Order desk with pricing and placing orders
- Establish delivery schedules; Monitor progress of delivery schedules
- Executes other duties as assigned by the Pricing Manager
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in Purchasing
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- Responsible and reliable
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow through on initiatives
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Takes initiative on the job
